African-American Speech Expo - Celebrates history, culture, and the power of young voices. Students from diverse backgrounds research and deliver speeches honoring notable African Americans whose contributions have shaped our nation. The program not only highlights excellence in scholarship and public speaking, but also reflects the collective commitment of schools and families to uplifting and honoring Black history. Through education, expression, and inclusion, this exposition inspires pride, understanding, and leadership in the next generation.

Youth Leadership Institute - A year-round program designed to empower young people with the confidence, skills, and character needed to lead with purpose. Through leadership development, civic awareness, goal-setting, and community engagement, participants are encouraged to discover their voices, strengthen their decision-making skills, and recognize their potential to make a positive impact. YLI nurtures the next generation of leaders by equipping youth with tools for success today and a vision for tomorrow.

AKA Day at the Capital - An advocacy-focused initiative that brings members together at state and national legislative centers to engage in meaningful dialogue with policymakers. This event provides an opportunity to elevate issues that impact our communities, increase civic awareness, and support legislative priorities aligned with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®’s commitment to service, social justice, and advocacy.

Through education, engagement, and collective action, members amplify their voices and reinforce the sorority’s long-standing legacy of leadership and public service.

We Are One Day of Service - a meaningful chapter tradition that honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through service, unity, and youth empowerment. During the weekend, members collect canned goods to support a local shelter, reinforcing our commitment to addressing food insecurity and serving those in need within our community.

The weekend also includes participation in the MLK March, followed by an inspiring MLK Program filled with uplifting music and powerful messages from youth leaders. A highlight of the program is a special presentation by the African American Speech Exposition winner, who delivers their award-winning speech, reminding us of the importance of history, voice, and leadership.

Together, these experiences reflect our dedication to service, civic engagement, and the development of future leaders, while honoring Dr. King’s enduring vision of justice, equality, and collective responsibility.
